Donnet: “O, how my worth in numbers may I sing”

by AJ Smith

Presidential Approval numbers are very good - strong economy, military and just about everything else. Better numbers than Obama at this point, by far. We are winning on just about every front and for that reason there will not be a Blue Wave, but there might be a Red Wave!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 5, 2018

O, how my worth in numbers may I sing,
Fortissimo! A song of wealth and force;
My melody approval’s praise doth bring,
As through applause the crowds my song endorse.
O! balm a wounded ruler from days yore,
Whose ears are hurt by sweeter serenades
Than his; to him but dirges to endure,
But to the people, beautiful ballades.
Ay, songs that sing of conquests, e’ery front,
With trumpets blaring hymns that winners play;
The rising and the falling notes a blunt
Reminder of the shores where losers lay.
     Such beaches see no Blue Waves; all are dead.
     So louder will I sing for Waves of Red!
