Donnet: “My glass could snow with all its beauty share”

by AJ Smith

Wish I could share with everyone the beauty and majesty of being in the White House and looking outside at the snow filled lawns and Rose Garden. Really is something - SPECIAL COUNTRY, SPECIAL PLACE!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 13, 2019

My glass could snow with all its beauty share,
To followers with ready eyes attuned;
A capitol with majesty to bare,
If not I were so far away marooned.
Are roses now by winter’s lips bekissed?
Are lawns beneath the snow’s duvet embraced?
Such comforts of my home so sorely missed;
Such beauty of my land thus made a waste.
O! wish I could with meager thumbs ensure
That all could witness such a spectacle,
But tightly closed remains my entrance door,
So stayed from nature’s sights most epochal.
     ‘Tis but a shame that they do me displace
     From such a SPECIAL COUNTRY, SPECIAL PLACE!
